Pottery Classes Near Fort Lauderdale
Gasper Arts Center is a ceramics-led art studio in Dania Beach, 2 miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport and about 15 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale. We run beginner pottery wheel classes, mosaic workshops and four-week courses — no experience needed, and everything is included in the price.
Getting here from Fort Lauderdale
We are at 250 S. Federal Highway, Dania Beach, FL 33004 — straight down US-1 from downtown Fort Lauderdale, 2 miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport. We are also a short drive from Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, and Davie.
What a class is like
An instructor works with you for the whole session. On the wheel you learn to center the clay, open it and lift it into a form, and most people finish with two pieces. Clay, tools, aprons, glazing and both kiln firings are included — you bring nothing. Finished work takes about 30 days to dry and fire, and you collect it from the studio.
When we run classes
Wheel classes run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM and Saturday afternoons at 3:00 PM. The studio front desk is open Tuesday to Saturday, 1:00–6:30 PM. Classes fill quickly — Friday and Saturday evenings especially — so book ahead on the schedule.

Wheel & Wine on Friday nights is our most popular date-night class: bring your own bottle, $65 a seat. We also host private parties and team events built around what your group wants to make.
