Bachelorette and Bridal Parties Near Fort Lauderdale

Something to do together, and something to take home. Gasper Arts Center is a working ceramics studio and gallery in Dania Beach, two miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport and a short drive from Hollywood, Hallandale Beach and Davie. Bachelorette groups, bridal showers and bridesmaid afternoons all work here, and it is a genuine alternative to another restaurant table.

What the group does

Sessions run about two to two and a half hours. Choose the pottery wheel, hand building with clay, mosaics, or a painting party. The wheel is the popular choice for a bachelorette because it is funny, nobody is good at it immediately, and the photographs are better than anything you will get over dinner.

Everyone makes their own piece. Clay work is fired in our kilns, which takes about 30 days, and you collect it afterward. Mosaics and paintings go home the same day, which suits a group flying in for a weekend.

Bring your own bottle

Bring your own drinks, food, music and decorations, and set up your own bar service if you want one. You can arrive early to decorate and stay for an hour after the session ends. Pronto Pizza is next door for food. Our public evening classes are already BYOB, so this is normal here rather than a special arrangement.

Group size and staffing

The studio and the adjoining art gallery hold up to 60 guests, with chairs and tables, so a large bridal party fits comfortably. We assign at least one qualified instructor for every ten guests. We have ten pottery wheels, so groups larger than ten split the time between the wheels and hand building and rotate. A group of six to twelve is the sweet spot for a bachelorette.

Weekend dates and Sunday or Monday availability

Friday and Saturday evenings are our busiest because of public classes, so reserve a weekend date as early as you can. Private groups can also book on Sundays and Mondays with advance notice, when the studio is otherwise closed to the public and you get the whole space to yourselves. That is often the best option for a bachelorette weekend built around a Saturday night.

Ages

Adult classes here are for ages 13 and up, so a bridal party of adults is straightforward. If younger family members are joining, hand building or a painting party suits them better than the wheel.
