How much does a pottery class cost?

A one-time beginner pottery wheel class at Gasper Arts Center costs $79 per person for a two-hour session, and that price includes clay, tools, glazing and firing. Our Wheel & Wine Friday nights are $69, Sip & Spin Saturday evenings are $79, and a one-session mosaic class is $65. Four-week courses are $280 for the full course. Our Kids Wheel Class is $65 a student for a one-time class, roughly ages 8 to 16, and private parties start at $45 a guest for painting and $69 for ceramics. Those prices cover clay, tools, glazing and firing; the booking system adds its own fee at checkout, and Paint Your Own Pottery is an optional $19 add-on you can choose when you book through Peek (Eventbrite tickets can’t include it) or pick up during most classes.

Do I need any experience?

No. Our beginner classes are built for people who have never touched clay. An instructor guides you through centering, opening and lifting the clay for the whole session, and most students finish with two pieces.

How long is a class?

A single pottery wheel class runs about two hours. Four-week courses meet once a week for four weeks.

What is included in the price?

Everything you need. Clay, all tools, an apron, a finishing glaze in one of our house colors, and both firings are included. You do not need to bring anything.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes. Aprons are provided, but clay can find its way onto sleeves. Short nails help on the wheel.

When do I get my pottery back?

Finished pieces have to dry and then go through two kiln firings, which takes about 30 days. We will let you know when your work is ready and you collect it from the studio.

Do you have evening classes?

Yes. Wheel classes run weekday evenings at 7:00 PM, and Saturday afternoons. Which nights run changes with the season and with instructor availability, so the class calendar shows what is open this month — a class missing from it has not been discontinued. Our studio front desk hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 1:00–6:00 PM, but classes run later than the desk is open.

Can I bring wine?

On Wheel & Wine, usually Friday nights, you bring your own bottle — that is the whole idea, and it is $69 a seat with all materials included. Sip & Spin on Saturday evenings is the same class at $79, and the studio pours some wine on those nights; you are still welcome to bring your own.

Are you near Fort Lauderdale?

Yes. We are at 250 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach, 2 miles from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and close to Hollywood and Hallandale Beach. Get directions.

What ages are the classes for?

Wheel classes are for ages 13 and up. That is not about the wine — younger students cannot reach the wheel pedals well enough to control the wheel. Our Kids Wheel Class covers roughly ages 8 to 16, and we can arrange separate sessions for younger students, so get in touch and we will set it up.

Can I book a private group or party?

Yes. We host birthdays, team events, bachelorette parties and private groups, and we build the session around what your group wants to make. Booking a private group closes the studio to the public for that slot, so we take a deposit of about 50% of your estimated headcount to hold it, then charge the balance on the day for whoever actually turns up. How do I book?

Everything is booked online. Pick a class from the schedule and reserve your seat — classes fill quickly, particularly Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Saturday evenings. We do not take drop-ins, so book before you come.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards for the Beginner Wheel class ($79), a Mosaic class ($65) and the 4-Week Wheel Course ($280) are sold online in our gift card store, so you can buy one any time.
