CALL FOR ART - SYMBOLIC CONVERSION
Symbolic Conversion invites artists to explore how familiar symbols gain, lose, and transform meaning through changes in context, scale, material, and perspective. Rather than defining symbols, this exhibition encourages artists to reinterpret, distort, and reimagine them, revealing new ways of understanding memory, belief, identity, authority, and power.
ABOUT THE JUROR:
Melvin Mason is a South Florida based sculptor, educator, and curator whose work explores symbolism and perception through ceramic and mixed-media sculpture. He has exhibited throughout South Florida, including at Rose Mary Gallery, 1310 Gallery, and The Wilder. Alongside his studio practice, Mason has taught ceramics at studios across South Florida.
