Classes and studio memberships at Gasper Arts
Gasper Arts is a working ceramics studio and gallery at 250 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach, two miles from the Fort Lauderdale airport. Everything below runs in the building, from one-off beginner classes to four-week courses, private parties and full studio membership. No experience is needed for anything marked beginner friendly, and clay, tools, glazing and both kiln firings are included in class prices.
Wheel-Throwing Classes
Beginner friendly. For anyone new to the wheel, or coming back for a refresher. You will learn to center the clay, use the tools, and open and lift it into different shapes. Runs most days of the week — check the calendar for current times.
Ceramic Hand Building
Beginner friendly. No wheel involved. Hand-building students learn slab and coil building, along with sculptural and decorative techniques with clay.
Mosaic Glass
Beginner friendly, all skill levels. Choose from a range of base options while an instructor shows you how to cut glass and guides you through building a mosaic of your own.
Paint Your Own Pottery
Beginner friendly. An optional $19 add-on during the Beginner Wheel class, Wheel & Wine and Sip-n-Spin: decorate one of our ready-made pieces while you are at the studio. Add it when you book through Peek (Eventbrite tickets can’t include it) or ask during class. Most people add it on during the class itself.
Four-Week Workshop
Beginner friendly. A four-week clay course that goes further into technique and proficiency, and into the concepts and narratives behind ceramics.
Workshops and Pop-Up Creative Experiences
We host workshops led by artists from around South Florida, and they are not limited to ceramics. The calendar has whatever is coming up next.
Private Parties
Corporate events, birthdays, bachelorettes and more, built around whatever your group wants to make.
Open-Studio Membership
Open Studio Membership is $205 a month, month to month, and gives you the studio from 7 AM to 11 PM every day — pottery wheels, hand-building supplies, the slab roller, the glaze lab, specialty tools, easels, table space and sinks.
Private Studio Workspaces
Private studio pricing varies with the size of the studio and is also month to month. These are private studio units for mixed-media artists, designers, photographers and other makers who need a dedicated space of their own to work in.
